the new collection
THE INSATIABLE LUST TO LIVE
This collection is for a “mock concert” of sorts. Every outfit would be the order in which a musical artist wears at their concerts to tell the story of their album as it’s played. This “mock” artist’s album is about the experience of life, the stages you go through, and touching on the emotions that are so niche you couldn’t possibly explain them with anything other than music and visual art. The garments will be built to last through dancing, give ease to singers, and show beautiful movement to captivate an audience. This collection also applies theory with the patternmaking, concept of design, and order of operations. This collection is also a challenge in questioning the norms of how I even design clothing at all.
Mood Board
Musicians and what they wear is becoming extremely intertwined in both industries. What an artist wears is a major part of their brand identity and adds so much to the music they play and the experience of the concert/music video they’re apart of.
The person to kick this off was David Bowie, dressing eclectically to be remembered for his music. People who have done this since then are Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Billie Eilish.
